I have been searching for something to fulfill my need for all types of information in one spot without being boring. I realized that I wanted a reason to express my opinions on everything I desire without having to make sense to anyone else and without rigid rules and boxes that limit me. Some might say to get a diary, but a diary – to me – is not worth the substance I am always thinking about. This is not due to me being an arrogant asshole but rather due to the conversation I crave, which in turn leads to me talking to myself and thinking introspectively.

My professor has the final assignment this semester as a personal manifesto. It’s exciting, but it makes me think about who I am. I am very good at becoming what people need me to be, but I’ve become accustomed to minimizing my passions because people are much better at displaying their own. So far, there is only one thing I wrote:

You can’t be biased without understanding the opposing side to absolutely grasp one’s stance.

This is very simple, and yet it’s the foundation for knowing the most about yourself. A human life is a nuanced one, and that extends to the beliefs, morals, ethics, and ideas within it. I live in the grey area, this gives the stances I am absolute on an authority over my life that makes it substantial to my identity. Of course I need to understand every argument someone might have against it.
